• Agreement tax scheme with Curacao

  The Netherlands and Curacao have reached an agreement on the main issues regarding a new bilateral tax facility in order to prevent double taxation (BRK) between both countries This was made public by Mr Weekers, the Dutch State Secretary of Finance, and Mr Jamaloodin, the Minister of Finance of Curacao, on Monday, 12 December.

• Cabinet agrees with introduction bank tax

  9 December 2011

  On the proposal of Minister De Jager and State Secretary Weekers of Finance, the Cabinet has agreed to send the legislative proposal for a bank tax to the Lower House of Parliament.

• New Tax Treaty with Japan to enter into force

  1 December 2011

  The new Tax Treaty between Japan and the Netherlands will be effective as from 1 January 2012. It has been ratified today by the Japanese Ambassador and Mr Weekers, the State Secretary for Finance.
